The Highest Good

As an American I need to remind myself about the highest good. My country continually stresses the importance of individual rights and freedom. I am very independent and value freedom. Yet I am very aware that I am part of the whole. What I do affects everything around me.

I have a favorite prayer that I like to say every morning.I would like to share it with you. This is a traditional Australian Aborigine Morning Greeting:

Hello Divine Oneness,

We are gathered here within you,
this special group of your beings.
We thank you for this day.
We thank you for each other.
I thank you for me.
We dedicate this day to the
honor and purpose of oneness.
we ask that everything
we do today, say today
and hear today be only
in the highest good,
in my highest good,
in the highest good
for all concerned
and in the highest good
for all life everywhere
throughout the universe.

Saying this prayer reminds me on a deep level that all is one. I am reminded to ask myself before making a decision if my action is for the highest good. I am reminded to let go of my ego; my fears and protections. I believe that when I act according to the highest good, all will fall into place. I am acting in harmony with the universe. I also believe that when I follow my joy that I am acting for the highest good of all. When I am on my path, I can more easily help others be on theirs. All is one!
